In February, I caught up with Cornell Asian Alumni Association secretary Ivan Sim ’95 and vice president of community engagement Charles Wu ’91 at a rain-postponed Cornell Cares beach clean-up. “We visited several towns (and yes, tried to find where the Beckhams lived) with lovely names like Cheltenham, Bourton-on-the-Water, Moreton-in-Marsh, and Chipping Norton. When in England, one must have Sunday roast, and we booked at the Horse and Groom in Bourton-on-the-Hill. Even though we first landed at two different places in the Cotswolds with the same name, we eventually all made it to the same pub and delighted in a very tasty, traditional meal. The Class of 2023 Commencement weekend was sublime … a string of rare sunny days when Cornell truly is the most beautiful campus on earth.

Saturday’s class dinner will be held under a tent on the new Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hall plaza on North Campus. Housing is available to everyone who would like to stay on campus, as the dorms are transformed into hotels for the weekend. We’ll have rooms in Dickson (mostly singles) and Jameson Hall (mostly suite-style). You may request housing in quieter dorms, share a room with a friend or significant other, or reserve blocks of rooms near friends. Registration includes continental breakfast every day, our class dinner on Saturday night, late-night and daytime food, unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, a souvenir, and numerous 2019-exclusive and university-wide events. While this incident is isolated, recent crime has caught people's attention. Monday's tragedy happened just more than 17 years after two Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers died in the line of duty. The March 31, 2007 shooting claimed the lives of officers Jeff Shelton and Sean Clark while they tried to respond to a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex.

Rerouting of aircraft around hazardous weather is based largely on forecasts provided by the CWSU meteorologist. National products issued by the CWSU meteorologist include Center Weather Advisories (CWA) and Meteorological Impact Statements (MIS). The CWA is a short term advisory valid for two hours or less describing areas of hazardous weather in progress or forecast to develop. The MIS is a forecast product valid up to 12 hours describing areas of weather that may impact air traffic operations. AccuWeather has a moderate risk of severe weather, including tornadoes, in this area, as well as a small part of southeastern South Dakota, southwestern Minnesota, northeastern Kansas and northwestern Missouri Tuesday.

Wednesday evening's forecast with Chief Meteorologist John Ahrens

At around 4 p.m., Wilson said it had been largely quiet for the past hour. At quarter of 5 p.m., however, Wilson said he heard additional shots and officers walking around in his backyard. Wilson described the scene as “gunfire galore,” with officers army-crawling through his backyard, hiding behind trees, and jumping around bushes.

Severe thunderstorms bring large hailstones, cut power to thousands in SC

The swath of severe weather at risk Wednesday will be nearly identical to that of Tuesday and will extend from Nebraska and Iowa southward 900 miles to near the Big Bend area of the Rio Grande River in Texas. The vigil comes on the heels of the deadly shootout between law enforcement officers and a man they were trying to arrest. Four officers were killed in an exchange of gunfire with the suspect and four others were wounded. The suspect, who was being served a warrant for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, was also killed. The downpours will also bring the risk of flash flooding to some areas that were spared in recent days.

The atmosphere was reloading Monday as the last gasp of thunderstorms pushed along the central Gulf Coast region with flooding downpours and gusty winds. Since Sunday, the group of storms has been responsible for 4-10 inches of rain and flash flooding in parts of Texas and Louisiana. Sadly, several people were killed, including an infant, in the violent storms and tornadoes from Friday to Sunday. Close to 1,000 incidents of severe weather occurred, including more than 125 tornadoes.

Severe Thunderstorm and Heavy Rainfall Threats for the Center of the Nation; Near Record Warmth for the East

Wilson said the people who lived in the home involved in the incident had lived there for “a year and change” but otherwise didn’t know them. They occasionally had backyard parties, Wilson said. Small streams and rivers surged to moderate to major flood stage as a result of rounds of heavy rain in recent days. The rainfall will result in the middle segment of the Mississippi River, reaching a minor flood stage in some areas. Tuesday evening at Little Rock AME Zion Church, located at 401 North McDowell Street.

UPDATE: Rainfall expected during morning commute; severe storms to stay east

The overall threat of severe weather Tuesday afternoon and evening will extend as far to the south as west-central Texas. "This storm will bring a reprise of severe weather, mainly in the form of high winds and hail, but also the potential for tornadoes in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa on Tuesday afternoon and evening," Rayno said. Omaha, Nebraska, may be in the middle of the threat zone. Many of the same areas that were rocked and devastated by severe weather and flash flooding in recent days may be hit again or at least under the threat of severe weather, including tornadoes. Severe weather and the likelihood of more tornadoes will return to the central United States, spanning Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, AccuWeather meteorologists warn.

"Two more storm systems will affect the Central states this week," AccuWeather Chief On-Air Meteorologist Bernie Rayno said. Along with the tornado threat, storms will pack high winds, large hail, and torrential rain that can aggravate or initiate flooding problems. The threat of severe weather will continue from the second storm system Thursday. The threat zone will encompass much of the same areas as Tuesday and Wednesday but also extend farther to the east -- near the Mississippi River and east of the Mississippi in Illinois and Wisconsin.

The storms are likely to produce episodes of hail and strong winds. Storms and the setup that are potent enough to produce tornadoes will also bring many incidents of large hail, high winds and torrential downpours. The second of the two main storms this week will eject from the central Rockies Wednesday and is forecast to pivot more slowly northward over the northern Plains and Upper Midwest Thursday. Hulu (No Ads) is the service’s premium option, providing access to its library without any advertisements. There are also several bundles available with Hulu that pair the service with Disney Plus and ESPN Plus, along with Live TV plans that also include many live TV channels. Created by David Shin, the series focuses on a prominent master fixer’s challenging life after learning that making a country stable is much easier than fixing broken family bonds. The opening chapter of the series successfully reimagined Westeros, as it would’ve existed under the Targaryens.

The enhanced mental clarity you receive when your life is decluttered really allows you to focus on the important things. I’ve toured numerous tiny houses built on these trailers and have been impressed by the generous headspace in those rooms. It’s enough for a tall person to stand up, something not possible in a lofted bedroom. Maybe you like an elevated living area in a gooseneck tiny house layout, or perhaps you dig a downstairs bedroom, often found in longer floorplans.

Featuring lower deck heights for safe and easy vehicle transport, our Equipment Trailers are designed to accommodate a wide variety of vehicles, tractors, and powered equipment. With super-wide deck options available, our Equipment Trailers offer hauling capacities that range from 4,500 to over 17,000 lbs. Right when you walk in, there’s a built-in bench with a coat rack that’s perfect for bags and shoes. And to the right in the open living room, you’ll find a beautiful entertainment center and shiplap accent wall, along with wood elements and a ceiling fan. The wood details continue in the kitchen, which also has a farmhouse sink, rustic pendant lights and a huge island with seating space. The Bobby Jo also has tons of windows for plenty of natural light and an alcove bathtub option in the primary suite.

We build several units that have become quite popular in the tiny house community to build homes on. Embark on your most challenging adventures with our Gooseneck Trailers, built for maximum strength and stability when hauling heavy-duty, large, and wide equipment and cargo—safely and securely. Ranging from 16 to 44 ft, they’re available in various axle configurations with hauling capacities ranging from 14,000 to 25,000 pounds. These tires are designed to carry a heavy load, so they hold up well under the strain of moving a tiny house.

One disadvantage to a custom tiny house trailer is a potential delay in receiving your finished product. Since many of them truly are custom built, it can take some time to receive it. Save time and money by buying a trailer specifically designed for your tiny house. Tiny Home Builders trailers are designed bypeople that build tiny houses, and we have taken every step to make that job as fast, safe, and as easy as possible.

A two-axle trailer with 5,200 weight grades can support a home up to 10,400 lbs. Tiny home trailers, and trailers in general, are typically build with either aluminum or steel. No matter the type of house, you can't start without your foundation.

Deck over trailers allow for maximum width on a tiny house build. No wheel wells protrude into the building deck, so no special design modifications need to be made, saving you time and money. At Trailer Made Trailers, we specialize in designing and building trailers specifically for tiny houses. We understand that every tiny house project is unique, and we work closely with our clients to create custom trailers that meet their specific needs and requirements.

If this is your plan, consider the benefits of building a wider tiny house. Also, wider translates to larger framing members (2×6 rather than 2×4 walls), creating a better insulated tiny house. The good news is there are now numerous tiny house trailer manufacturers to choose from.

This housing option is perfect for traveling musicians, marketing professionals, bloggers, freelance videographers, or writers. When you have the flexibility to stop for extended periods, having a tiny home trailer will give you unlimited possibilities of where you can live. The possibilities for your next adventure are endless; from national parks and campgrounds to Walmart parking lots, you will never be confined to one location.

50-Year-Old Shoppers Use Charlotte Tilbury's Eye Serum for Youthful Skin

charlotte tilbury cryo recovery eye serum

In a nutshell, using Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum has been an experience to relish – a skincare ritual that I looked forward to twice a day. From the delightful unboxing to the application process, it was a journey that my skin thanked me for. However, as with any skincare product, it wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies. For instance, I felt that the serum took a bit longer to sink into my skin than I would’ve preferred. Also, the price tag is quite steep, which could be a deterrent for some.

She also likes that the formula, which contains hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, is clean and vegan. As with any beauty, health, or wellness offering, cryotherapy prices vary depending on your location and the specific areas you want to treat. At Restore Hyper Wellness, with 200 locations throughout the country, whole-body cryotherapy (AKA a session in their chambers) ranges from $27-$41 for members and $42-$63 for non-members. A ten-minute cryofacial runs $175 for members and $245 for non-members. ICRYO offers their services at a comparable price range and operates on a similar model, offering clients passes that allow them to book multiple services at a lower price. Meanwhile, dermatologist-administered cryofacials with devices such as Glacial Rx can cost between $500 and $1,500 depending on location.

What seems to be a true difference, though, is that the salt form is more stable, easier to formulate and cheaper so it pops up more often on the ingredient lists. It's often paired with glyceryl stearate - the two together form a super effective emulsifier duo that's salt and acid tolerant and works over a wide pH range. It also gives a "pleasing product aesthetics", so no wonder it's popular. It can be naturally found in fruits and teas but can also be made synthetically. It’s often used together with ethylhexylglycerin as it nicely improves the preservative activity of phenoxyethanol.

Love it, use it every day!

A light, oily liquid (triglyceride of seven carbon length fatty acid, heptanoic acid)  that works as a very high spreadability and low viscosity emollient making the skin nice and smooth. You can usually find it right in the very first spot of the ingredient list, meaning it’s the biggest thing out of all the stuff that makes up the product. For something even more refreshing, you can't go wrong with Charlotte Tilbury's Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum. This tube features a cooling metal applicator that fits perfectly under the eyes to refresh and depuff the area. The slim packaging also makes it much easier to pop in your bag when you're on the go. The brand has two eye creams on offer, the Magic Eye Rescue and the Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum.

Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Highlighter Wand

The vegan formula incorporates cooling aloe vera, buttery shea oil, and caffeine for a speedy pick-me-up. It’s the serum’s more unusual ingredients (amethyst, moonstone powders, and Swiss ice wine essence), however, that really give it an edge, lighting up a dog-tired face after the cruelest of red-eyes. Sometimes you wake up and you can just feel the overnight puffiness. On those mornings you need the best eye creams for puffiness—a caffeine-infused eye cream, to be specific—stat. If the eyes are the window to the soul, our under eyes are an indication of last night's 12-hour Friends rerun marathon.

One of the standout ingredients for me was the ICEAWAKE™ – an innovative ingredient with significant anti-aging benefits. However, before jumping on the bandwagon, do keep in mind the price point and make sure to patch test, especially if you have sensitive skin. Having been through a fair share of eye serums that couldn’t stand up to their claims, I was genuinely curious about how Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum would perform. To say that I approached it with both intrigue and a hint of skepticism would be an understatement. At the heart of the Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum are anti-aging ingredients like ICEAWAKE™ and REPLEXIUM™, a brightening-effect caffeine complex, and Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic 8 Matrix.

The probiotics help reduce inflammation, Greek espresso acts as a stimulating antioxidant, and honeysuckle and jasmine give the gel a pleasant floral scent. One downside of cryotherapy is that it can be potentially dangerous without proper supervision. "Unmonitored exposure to extremely cold temperatures can lead to damage to the skin, which, in some cases, could result in permanent scars," Dr. Zeichner previously told Allure.

Product details

Eye serums are dime a dozen in the beauty market, and the Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum was a product I was eager to put to the test. But on the whole, my experience with the Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum was more than satisfactory. My under-eyes seemed happier, and I was thrilled with the noticeable improvements. It was a win-win that brought me back to the product again and again.

Charlotte Tilbury's New Fragrances Have Me Feeling Some Type of Way

Both retail at around £50, so they are definitely more of an investment, but after trying them out for myself, I was sold. I thoroughly enjoyed using it, and the results were undeniably good. I would happily recommend the Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum to our readers. Right off the bat, let me take you on the journey of using this product. I committed to using it every morning and evening, gently dabbing a pea-sized amount under each eye after cleansing my face and before moisturizing.

According to famous dermatologist, Leslie Baumann while tocopheryl acetate is more stable and has a longer shelf life, it’s also more poorly absorbed by the skin and may not have the same awesome photoprotective effects as pure Vit E. It’s the most commonly used version of pure vitamin E in cosmetics. It’s a solid white stuff that’s very alkaline and used in small amounts to adjust the pH of the product and make it just right.

These gilded eye patches from Peter Thomas Roth are super chic, but they’re also comfortable enough to wear in-flight, says Amy Siegal, a travel advisor at Valerie Wilson Travel. Siegal wears the luxe patches both on the plane and after she lands to combat dryness and puffiness. She likes them so much, in fact, she gifts them to clients before their own big trips. “Unlike ice or an ice bath, the dry cold provides a cold but comfortable feeling during the session,” says Jones. Personally, I’ve tried a cryotherapy facial as well as a cryotherapy treatment on my foot after a sprain and at no point was I in pain from either treatment. But a full-body experience can feel anything from slightly-strange to downright unbearable, depending on who you ask — at a recent industry event, one beauty editor had to step out before the full three minutes.

Step into the world of professional make up artistry with Charlotte Tilbury. Famed for gracing the faces of A-Listers including Bella Hadid and Kate Moss, Charlotte developed her eponymous brand by fusing Hollywood finishes with easy-to-use formulas. Inspired by the high-performance ice-tech of cryotherapy, the Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum (15ml) is charged with the brand's IceAwake complex and caffeine, with a skin-cooling applicator tip for eyes that appear depuffed and smoothed.

In a recent Instagram video, Tilbury explained that the wands, which offer various blush and highlight shades, are a “viral, sellout sensation,” for their ability to flatter and illuminate the complexion. The world’s most beguiling makeup artist on beauty, stars, love, and sex. All products featured on Condé Nast Traveler are independently selected by our editors. Overall, we think that caffeine is a very versatile and biologically active ingredient. Even though some of its effects are more hyped up than backed up, it is still a nice to have on many ingredient lists. It's especially useful to help active ingredients for self-tanning (DHA), anti-acne or skin-whitening to penetrate deeper and work better. The Magic Eye Rescue aims to smooth and brighten the under eye area, while the Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum aims to reduce puffiness and refresh tired eyes.

The only downside is that it's not as moisturising as the other eye cream, so I would recommend having this as your AM option and using the Magic Eye Rescue before bed. As someone who suffers with dark circles and dry skin around my eyes, I am always looking for the best eye cream to help brighten and moisturise my under eye area. As a beauty journalist, I have been lucky enough to try my fair share of brands, but there was one that I was yet to try out. Get brighter, fresher-looking eyes with Charlotte Tilbury Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum, a skincare treatment that works to reduce the appearance of puffiness around the eyes for firmer and smoother skin. One such brand is Deascal, a haute-skincare brand that has been turning heads in the beauty industry with its innovative approach to skincare. Known for its luxurious ingredients and cutting-edge formulations, Deascal prides itself on delivering high-quality, cruelty-free and innovative products that cater to a variety of skin types and concerns.

New York–based beauty and style expert Katya Bychkova deploys a double whammy for long-haul flights, starting with Dermalogica’s Awaken Peptide Eye Gel. “It contains caffeine, a known anti-inflammatory and de-puffing ingredient,” Bychkova says. She chases that with Lancôme’s Advanced Génifique wrinkle and dark circle eye cream, a formula punched up with Vitamin C and nourishing hyaluronic acid. “It quenches my dehydrated skin while I’m up in the air and visibly reduces the appearance of dark circles,” she says. Oh, the quest for the perfect eye serum, it’s a beauty battleground out there, isn’t it?

Dining cruises on the Riverwalk Enjoy an amazing dining cruise!

river cruise san antonio

There are currently no Riverwalk restaurants that offer reservation based “community” type lunch or dinner cruises where you can join others on a boat for a meal. To book a charter lunch or dinner cruise, you first contact a Riverwalk restaurant and they will assist you in chartering the boat and cater the meal for you. Chartered dinner and lunch cruises seat a maximum of 20 guests but most recommend 16 to 18 people for comfort. If you would like more information about a private, chartered dinner, lunch or cocktail cruise, email us here.

A Deep-Dive Into the History of the Alamo

There are ramps and elevator access points from street level down to the river walk level. Some of the crossing points are not wheelchair accessible however. Following this disaster, a means for controlling the river levels was discussed, with the end result being the San Antonio River Walk.

Best Cruise Travel Insurance

cruise insurance cost

Of course, there's much more than just this list that cruise insurance can cover. Cruise insurance will cover the cost of prepaid, nonrefundable shore excursions, as long as you include them in the value of the trip you are insuring. If you’re worried that missed connections could disrupt your cruise, it’s worth considering TravelSafe for its excellent missed connection benefit.

Additional Types of Travel Insurance for Cruises

Here are the major items that you’ll want to make sure your policy covers. This insurance provides extra death and/or dismemberment coverage, but only in the case of an aircraft accident. The insured can select coverage in a variety of dollar amounts; half a million dollars in coverage can cost less than $50 per traveler. While airline accident coverage is typically a supplemental add-on, it might be included in the cost of comprehensive standard policies or offered as "bonus" coverage.

Nationwide Travel Insurance

Standalone travel insurance policies can be purchased to cover one person or a family for a specific trip or multiple trips within a period of time. These policies are available at a variety of price points to meet a traveler's budget. When comparing policy options, you can balance price versus coverage options.

Types of cruise travel insurance coverages

When the port lineup is adjusted or the cruise shortened, the company will offer the guest an onboard credit, onboard gift or future cruise credit rather than any refund. You won't be able to make a claim on your cruise travel insurance policy just for a minor itinerary change. For starters, policies often will reimburse you for the cost of canceling a cruise due to a last-minute crisis. They will also often cover costs related to an interruption of a cruise (maybe your ship breaks down, requiring you to fly home mid-voyage). These two elements are known as trip-cancellation and trip-interruption insurance, and they are bundled into a typical travel insurance policy. Buying cruise insurance within the first two weeks or so of making your first trip deposit also qualifies you for additional coverage.

Whether you need travel insurance specifically for cruises depends on the provider.

At its core, cruise insurance is your financial lifeboat, designed to protect you from unforeseen events that could disrupt your sea voyage. Whether it's a sudden illness, adverse weather, or other unexpected occurrences, having the right insurance can make a world of difference. Our analysis of 16 policies finds the average cost of a policy without CFAR is $225 and a travel plan with CFAR is $337, a difference of $112.

That could be for the cruise itself or an expense like airfare to get you to your cruising destination. This way, if you have to cancel your trip, you'll have the most extended coverage period possible. The coverage limits on AXA's policies are on the higher end compared to other providers. And you can buy coverage for a little as 4% of your trip cost depending on your age, travel destination, and state of residence. A cruise vacation can take much of the stress out of planning a vacation. With a pre-set itinerary on the high seas, you don't have to worry about how you're getting to your destination and what you're going to do there.

This means you’ll need to file any medical claims with your health insurance provider first. It's also why you should read this introduction to everything you need to know about cruise insurance. It has many details, but the next time something unexpected happens on your cruise vacation, you'll be glad to be educated and covered by a comprehensive travel insurance policy. Some credit cards provide travel protection benefits when you purchase a vacation using your card. Your credit card can reimburse you for lost or damaged baggage, flight cancellations, and emergency flights home for a family medical emergency.

You can choose between the Trip Protection Basic or Trip Protection Choice plans, with the higher-tier Choice plan costing more but providing more coverage. You won't have the option to purchase a cancel-for-any-reason add-on or opt in for a collision damage waiver on this lowest-tier plan. The U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs clearly states the importance of buying travel insurance. If you're hoping to insure against a storm-related disaster, it's good to buy travel insurance as early as possible. Once a storm or hurricane is named, it's too late to buy travel insurance to cover it.

When your baggage is delayed for more than 12 hours, you can be reimbursed up to $150 a day ($750 maximum) for any necessary personal items you purchase. With this plan, you can take part in just about any excursion without fear of negating your coverage. Cruise insurance isn’t much different than traditional travel insurance. Any good travel insurance should cover cruises in addition to travel by air or car.
